Commercial and private client law firm Clarkslegal has grown its Reading office with two new appointments to meet the needs of its expanding construction and energy practice.
Hamish Gray joins the firm as a five-year qualified associate, having previously worked in-house at SSE plc, where he worked predominantly for SSE Contracting, the UK’s largest M&E contractor.
Jamie McGee qualified as a solicitor in January 2013 with a top-ranked law firm in Ireland. Prior to qualifying as a solicitor, he spent almost ten years working in the construction industry on domestic, commercial and industrial projects as a project manager.
Managing partner and head of construction David Rintoul welcomed Gray and McGee to Clarkslegal.
He commented: “2013 has been a year of substantial growth for the team. Significant new instructions this year, from existing and new clients, have been across a broad range of retail, health, education, infrastructure and energy projects, demonstrating the strength and depth of our expertise.
"The addition of Hamish and Jamie will enhance our team greatly and reinforce our market position as the leading law firm in the Thames Valley for construction law services. Hamish is particularly well known and respected in the Thames Valley as a committee member of Constructing Excellence Berkshire and Society of Construction Law regional organiser. Both he and Jamie are uniquely placed to deal with legal and commercial issues in the multi-disciplinary construction environment because of their commercial background and specialised training.”
The reputation of Clarkslegal’s construction team has been reflected this year through invitations to speak at the national RICS conferences on the legal implications of Building Information Modelling and on Welsh Government procurement policies and procedures.
