The South Coast Tech & Innovation Awards are back for another year, and nominations are open for a limited time. We can’t wait to see entries coming in from all the most exciting tech companies from across the South Coast region.

As always, this year’s event will feature the presentation of awards from an enormous array of categories – with such a diverse and all-encompassing range of accolades up for grabs, we’ll be seeing nominations from companies operating in every area of the tech sector.

From defense and health to sustainability and maritime tech, we’re looking to cover every aspect of such a crucial, complex and ever-evolving industry.

One area we’re interested in is the world of science within the South Coast region. Sponsored by Evelyn Partners, the title of Science & Tech Company of the Year will be presented to the company that has demonstrated the most exceptional excellence at the intersection of science and technology during the qualifying period.

But with the region being home to so many incredible companies, who will come out on top as our overall winner? Here are seven eligible companies who we feel should enter for their chance to take home the trophy:

Alimera Sciences

A global pharmaceutical company renowned for its dedication to developing innovative, vision improving treatments for chronic retinal diseases, Alimera Sciences is making a real impact on the lives of patients throughout the region and beyond. Understanding that collaboration is key, the company works with an ever-expanding network of clinicians and patient groups.

Having built up a substantial network of global partners, the company works across a number of sectors from artificial intelligence and homeland security to nuclear and medical.

ACS Testing

Since having first been established in 1987, ACS Testing has grown to provide a comprehensive UKAS accredited sampling, site testing and laboratory testing service for a wide range of materials. From chemical testing and asbestos analysis to geo-environmental consultancy and energy regulation, the company offers an enormous range of services.

Ultrasonic Sciences Limited

Backed by more than 30 years of invaluable experience, Ultrasonic Sciences Limited is one of the world’s leading specialists in the design and manufacture of ultrasonic instrumentation and bespoke automated NDT inspection systems. Having grown to hold a global presence, USL operates across all five continents and is the UK’s only manufacturer of ultrasonic testing systems and instruments.

Biopharma Group

Winchester’s Biopharma Group is well known for its unwavering commitment to providing a world-class service to its continually growing network of customers. From high quality services supplying equipment to the pharmaceutical, biotech, food & general process industries across the UK & Ireland to its specialist in-house team of engineers, Biopharma Group is one of the most relied upon companies in the South Coast’s tech sector.
