The joint venture between Landid and Brockton Capital has reached agreement with another occupier to take space in the partnership’s landmark office development in Reading town centre.

Computer software provider Objective Corporation will move from its current headquarters in Maidenhead, after signing up for 7,000 sq ft on the 10th floor of Thames Tower, which sits on the town’s pedestrianised piazza,, directly opposite the newly rebuilt £880 million Reading station.

The deal underlines the attraction of the 15-storey Thames Tower to the next generation of occupiers in the Thames Valley looking for design-led contemporary office space in amenity-rich, well-connected urban locations.

Objective will join four other occupiers in the 195,000 sq ft building that have agreed lettings, with more to follow.

Earlier this year banking giant HSBC signed up for 9,500 sq ft; professional services firm BDO has taken the whole of the 12th floor; award-winning recruitment firm Austin Fraser has taken 14,040 on the 11th floor; and natural food specialist Pret A Manger has taken space on the ground floor.

James Silver, Landid development director, said: “We are delighted to welcome Objective Corporation to the growing community of forward-thinking businesses that are taking up space in Thames Tower. The deal demonstrate  that the building is a major draw for businesses looking for space in the Western Corridor and by attracting a new entrant into the town shows the importance of this landmark building to Reading’s wider business community. Thames Tower is a workplace like no other in Reading and we look forward to Objective moving in and adding to the vibrant atmosphere in the building.”

Thames Tower’s location in Reading, which is equidistant from London and Oxford, is a major draw to occupiers, and offers excellent access to rail and road connections. Currently just 25 minutes from London Paddington station, Reading will enjoy even closer connections and reduced journey times when the Elizabeth Line opens in 2019.
