Law firm Shoosmiths is marking 10 years since the launch of its successful regional series of free training events, designed for local employers’ in-house legal (IHL) teams.
The events, now held at eight regional locations, cover a mix of technical and soft-skills training, and regularly attract IHLs from the region’s top businesses. These popular and free breakfast training workshops deliver practical skills from experts and provide two hours of training which satisfies the SRA’s requirement for continuing competence.
The next sessions will take place at Shoosmiths’ Forum 5 Solent office in Whiteley on October 1, 2019 and its Thames Valley office - adjacent to Reading railway station - on October 14, 2019 respectively, focussing on three hot topics:
Paula Swain, partner and head of Shoosmiths’ office in Solent, said: “We work closely with our clients’ in house legal teams and have based these sessions very much on what the tell us they want from training. Equally important is the convenience of a location that anyone attending the event can easily get to on their way to work.”
Jonathan Naylor, partner and head of Shoosmiths’ office in Thames Valley, said: “Over the years we’ve attracted IHLs at every level of experience, from the senior general counsel who want a brush up on a topic, to the newly-qualified lawyer who wants practical skills for their portfolio.”
