The Guide to Planning Lawyers 2013-14, published today, ranks Blandy & Blandy at 19th nationwide – fantastic recognition for the Reading-based firm in a list mainly comprising City and international law firms.

Blandy & Blandy has the largest dedicated planning team in the region, and is notable for its planning work with major landowning clients including Reading Borough Council and the University of Reading.

The guide, in the form of a colour supplement published annually by Planning magazine and compiled via peer-led interviews and research, is a publication for key decision makers across the construction, property and planning sectors.

Karen Jones, head of planning and environmental, is also recognised, ranking 31st in the list of Top 50 Solicitors in the UK, making her the only solicitor ranked within the South East region (outside of London). Jones is a legal associate of the Royal Town Planning Institute, an accredited member of The Law Society planning law panel, and is highly experienced in strategic planning advice, planning appeals, public inquiries and environmental law.

Jones commented: “As a result of the hard work put in by the team, it is great recognition for the firm to have been ranked so highly. I am personally very pleased to be ranked in this prestigious list of planning lawyers.”

Simon Dimmick, chairman of the firm and a partner in the planning team, remarked: “This recognition underlines the significance of the team and the quality of the work we are carrying out for our clients.”

Chambers UK 2013, an independently researched leading directory of law firms, ranks the planning team at Blandy & Blandy in the top tier, commenting: “This 'excellent' team has a long-established presence in the region and a solid reputation in planning law.”
