Bibby Financial Services (BFS) has provided a £1.5 million funding facility to Dorset-based Ensign Communications, a respected network infrastructure provider of over 30 years to businesses including JD Sports, Peel Ports and English Heritage.

Specialising in bespoke ‘end-to-end’ wired and wireless networking, Ensign Communications provides structured cabling, both physical security and Cyber Security solutions, as well as broadband and hosted telephony services.

The business announced its acquisition and merger with Birmingham-based networking specialists, CDI Group, in November 2018. Part of an ambitious three-year growth plan, the move has significantly increased Ensign Communications’ portfolio, personnel and geographical coverage. The combined businesses now boast offices in Poole, Birmingham, Widnes and Newcastle with a workforce of more than 90 employees.

To support the merger with CDI Group, BFS structured funding to ease cashflow pressure and provide Ensign Communications with the working capital for future growth as it continues to expand.

Its ability to deliver a broad range of networking products and services, combined with the support from BFS will ensure Ensign Communications’ customers receive quality expertise at a lower cost and with less risk - a key combination in an increasingly complex technology landscape.

Adam Jarvis, managing director, Ensign Communications, commented: “We pride ourselves on our ability to help businesses keep ahead of the curve. The funding from BFS will grant us the horsepower we need to drive our ambitious growth plans, as we look to launch new products and services with our increasing team of experts.”

Chris Sygrove, corporate manager, Bibby Financial Services, added: “Ensign has an impressive reputation that spans multiple industries and the recent merger has strengthened its proposition for complete end to end network solutions.

“The funding facility we have designed will help the business realise further potential with its cashflow and allow Adam and his team to focus their attention on unlocking new avenues for growth. We look forward to supporting the business as it establishes itself as a one stop shop for enterprise network infrastructures.”
