Southampton: RSM expands tax team with three senior hires

Leading audit, tax and consulting firm RSM has expanded its tax team in Southampton with the addition of three specialists to its growing capital allowances, VAT and tax investigations practice.

Paul Sanders joins as a tax investigations associate director, Rebecca Clarke as a capital allowances manager, and Vicky Williams joins as a VAT associate.

Sanders joins with 37 years of tax experience, predominantly spent as an inspector with HM Revenue & Customs. His extensive investigation experience includes, working for the past six years, in Fraud Investigation Services dealing with cases of suspected serious fraud under Code of Practice 8 (COP8) and Code of Practice 9 (COP9).

Clarke is a chartered surveyor with 19 years of experience in capital allowances, most recently with AECOM, working with a wide range of clients including institutions through to private property investors in all types of commercial market sectors and transaction types. She strengthens RSM ‘s southern capital allowances team, based in Southampton and led by Rupert Guppy.

Williams joins the team from HM Revenue & Customs with 22 years’ experience where she spent several years as a VAT Assurance Officer, completing VAT inspections and latterly as part of the Solicitors Office undertaking technical reviews of complex VAT assessments. She predominately specialises in real estate and the charitable sector as well as significant experience across general VAT compliance and advisory work.
