A top-rated Southampton firm of architects and master planners has strengthened its team on the back of new client wins.

Boyle+Summers has appointed Sam Jackson as architectural technologist. Jackson joins the firm with a wealth of architectural experience gained over the past eight years and has slotted straight into the team working on a high-profile commercial project on a former MOD site.

It’s the second hire in recent months. New projects are driving growth and recruitment opportunities for Boyle+Summers, which now employs 18 staff from its Ocean Village office. The company is considered as one of the strongest regional architects in the commercial buildings and housebuilding sectors.

Jackson, who joins the business team from a Romsey firm of architects, said: “It’s been a real breath of fresh air and I’ve joined a talented team. I’m delighted to have started at Boyle+Summers.

“A big factor in joining the firm was working for a firm that I could grow with professionally. Boyle+Summers has a great reputation in the area and I’m delighted to have this opportunity.”

Boyle+Summers director Tony Boyle said: “Against this uncertain backdrop we are pleased to be winning work and looking to grow in line with our business strategy. Sam is a talented technician further boosting our capabilities and we are delighted he chose to work with us.

Boyle+Summers director Richard Summers added: “Work is still going on despite these challenging times. We continue to work on a wide range of projects, which include offices, commercial units, apartments, housing, urban in-fill schemes, high-tech manufacturing facilities and even a high-profile market town master plan.”

The firm is currently involved with a number of significant schemes including housing developments in Hampshire, Cornwall, Devon and Kent, major commercial development at Adanac Park in Nursling, and the re-development plans of pump and plant company Selwood’s head office in Chandlers Ford.

The company’s clients include JLL, Dandara, Baker Estates, Drew Smith, Amiri Construction, Brymor Construction and Selwood.

The firm has recently undertaken high-profile projects with several local authorities – including a tall building study in Southampton, a town-centre vision for Bournemouth and a strategic masterplan for Portsmouth City Centre.
