Bicester Heritage welcomes 50th tenant and full occupancy
Bicester Heritage has welcomed its 50th specialist, meaning the automotive cluster is now fully occupied.
Polestar, NEOM McLaren Formula E, Zapp Electric Vehicles and Zero Petroleum, join a range of automotive businesses including vintage Bentley specialist Kingsbury Racing Shop, classic Porsche experts Sports Purpose and the Vintage Car Radiator Company on the former RAF site.
Since its establishment in 2013, Bicester Heritage has grown to become a major location of the UK’s historic motoring enterprises. The sector is worth £18.8 billion per annum. Also in this area is the Bicester Aerodrome Company, launched in 2020, which promotes aviation activity from the historic grass airfield.
Historic England has recognised Bicester Heritage as an example of constructive conservation due to its successful retention of the look and feel of the World War Two RAF Bomber Station. ‘The Command Works’ completed in summer 2020, was the first significant new build on the site in 80 years.
The Bicester Motion site, of which Bicester Heritage forms just one part, aims to create “a hub for the past, present and future of mobility”.

The next phase of this, Bicester Innovation, will soon break ground, introducing a new knowledge economy to the site in the form of 230,000 square feet and on-site test tracks and airfield.
It is hoped this will tap into the UK mobility industry, which sees an estimated £3.7 billion investment per annum, and has a predicted £62 billion in economic growth by 2030.
Daniel Geoghegan, the Chief Executive of Bicester Motion, said: “From the very beginning, our vision for Bicester Heritage has been to create a vibrant hub for 50 Specialists to safeguard crucial heritage skills and boost both the local and national economies.
“We’re delighted to see our vision believed in so enthusiastically by such a diverse range of businesses of all sizes on-site, which gives us great confidence in the forthcoming stages of our Bicester Motion masterplan.
“Future-facing businesses already believe in what we’ve created at Bicester Heritage, but with our forthcoming Innovation Quarter, now we’re developing an area built especially for their needs.”
