Oxfordshire’s Sky Wave Gin to open new bar
Oxfordshire-based distillery Sky Wave Gin will expand its Bicester Heritage headquarters by adding a bar and visitor space.
The development follows a successful 12 months for the business. As well as picking up a gold and silver at the World Gin Awards earlier this year, the firm’s Navy Strength Gin won a Masters medal at the Spirits Business competition 2022 – one of only two in the world. In total Sky Wave has earned 37 international accolades since forming three years ago.
The brand’s most recent gin, Blenheim Palace Signature London Dry Gin, developed and distilled by Master Distiller Andy Parsons, was released at the end of 2021.
Rachel Hicks, Owner of Sky Wave Gin, said: “This is the next exciting step in the growth of Sky Wave Gin. We are often asked to host bespoke private and corporate events and our new space will allow us to broaden the range and number of these experiences.
“Our popular Distillery Visits, which are booking until the end of this year, will have a bigger home too. This is a great boost for the visitor economy in Oxfordshire and we thank OxLEP and Bicester Heritage for investing their confidence in us. We have more great plans in the pipeline!”

The Bicester Heritage location, part of the Bicester Motion umbrella brand, is a cluster of automotive-based businesses. Since being founded in 2013, the site has become home for 45 specialist businesses.
Daniel Geoghegan, Chief Executive of Bicester Motion, said: “It’s always incredibly fulfilling for us to see specialists that not only enjoy having Bicester Heritage as their home, but also upscale and continue to develop their business with us. We are looking forward to joining Sky Wave at their events later in the year.”
