Bargate Homes has begun construction on the third phase of Rivercross, its flagship development in Warsash, Hampshire.

The £128 million project is set to deliver a total of 253 energy-efficient homes and is due for completion in 2025.

This latest phase – Heron’s Quarter – features 28 new properties ranging from one to four bedrooms, and from detached to terraced.

Local housebuilder VIVID will also chip in to deliver 40 per cent of the homes as affordable housing.

Mark White, MD of Bargate Homes, said: “We’re pleased to start construction on the third phase of this award-winning development.

“It’s great to see Rivercross expanding and becoming a thriving community.

“The homes at Heron’s Quarter will enable us to continue to provide the variety of housing that is needed in the area and most importantly homes families are proud to live in.”

Rivercross has already earned Premier Guarantee’s national Excellence Award for Development of the Year and landed on the shortlist for several other awards.

The development features green buffer zones to protect existing ecology and retain local wildlife corridors, with plenty of new trees and shrubs as well as bat and bird boxes.

Three show homes have been put together in collaboration with The Garden Society in Southampton and home staging business In-House – they’re open to visitors daily from 10am to 5pm.
