Lawyers based in the Reading office of international law firm Osborne Clarke have advised AlbionVC on their investment into fintech SaaS firm Toqio.

AlbionVC led Toqio’s £17.2 million Series A funding round, which also included a £1.1 million grant from a Spanish public organisation for technology development.

The Osborne Clarke team was led by venture and growth capital partner Justin Starling and included corporate associate directors Robert Pook and Elizabeth Yell and corporate associate Chris Flach, all of whom are based in the firm’s Reading office.

Toqio, which is based in London with offices in Madrid and Nairobi, has seen rapid expansion in the past 18 months, growing its team from 17 to more than 100 as well as expanding its services into the Spanish market.
