Gloucester-based national retailer ProCook  has  said ‘Thank You’ to the  NHS in Gloucestershire this week, donating water bottles to 1,600 front-line workers across the Cheltenham and Gloucestershire hospitals.

The staff benefitting from water bottles  include critical care and theatres teams,  emergency room staff  and  the  respiratory nurses; all of whom have been providing care for patients throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.

The donated water bottles have also been shared across other hospital areas, including teams working with patients who are receiving cancer treatment as well as drivers, switchboard staff and waste disposal personnel; with staff across the hospitals playing a vital role for local patients.

ProCook Founder Daniel O’Neill said: “We wanted give something to Gloucestershire Hospital staff to say thanks for the fantastic job they are all doing looking after us during this pandemic. We feel it’s important to support both the frontline workers and all the ‘unsung heroes’ of the NHS as it takes an incredible effort throughout the organisation to keep things running smoothly.

"A drinks bottle is a small gesture but one we are happy to offer and hopefully it will help keep the teams going on their long shifts. Most importantly we want to say from ProCook, a big ‘Thank You’ to everyone who works for the NHS in Gloucestershire. Most of our head office staff live in the area and are directly benefitting from their hard work.”

Cheltenham and Gloucester Hospitals Charity are supporting NHS Staff wherever the need is greatest through their COVID-19 Appeal, their Head of Fundraising Richard Smith said:

"We would like to thank  ProCook  for their kindness in supporting our local NHS staff. We are very grateful to all local businesses who have been getting behind our COVID-19 Appeal at this unprecedented time. It really does make such a difference to staff to know how appreciated they are by the wider community."
