Nicola Bennett has joined law firm Moorcrofts as a senior associate in the corporate team to meet the needs of the firm’s expanding workload and increasing client base. The team, headed up by renowned corporate partner Teri Hunter is now 11 strong, including four partners.

Bennett joins Moorcrofts from law firm Freeths, where she was a senior associate, based in London, specialising in a range of corporate matters including capital market transactions. She re-joins Moorcrofts after having trained and qualified with the firm back in 2008.

Bennett is highly experienced in corporate transactions, investments, restructurings and share schemes and has a well-established reputation in the corporate field. She also has extensive experience of both private practice and in-house work having spent five years working for a major Spanish infrastructure company and as sole legal counsel for a London based property consultancy firm. This plays to Moorcrofts strengths of being an in-house legal and business advisory team for its clients.

The appointment follows a period of rapid growth for Moorcrofts. Within the past two years, it has invested significantly within the practice. In the past 12 months alone, Moorcrofts has nearly doubled in size, now housing one of the largest corporate and commercial legal teams in the Thames Valley region, while at the same time as consolidating the 16% growth achieved by the firm in 2016-2017.

Teri Hunter, CFO and corporate partner, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Nicola back to Moorcrofts. Her breath of knowledge and experience will aid the training of junior staff and enhance and bolster our senior corporate team to continue to provide outstanding client service and legal advice for our clients.”

Bennett said: “I am looking forward to continuing to develop my career and being involved in the ever-increasing growth of Moorcrofts. It is refreshing and exciting to be involved in such a dynamic and forward-thinking law firm, that prides itself on combining both legal advice and commercial understanding to ensure businesses achieve the desired outcomes they need to drive growth and success.”
