A new list ranking the 100 fastest-growing British companies has been published recently, giving an encouraging glimpse into how UK business is recovering post-pandemic.

Most pertinently for us, the company topping the 100 is from the South East…

Growth Index's list, its first ever one, presents an interesting insight into the various industries and sectors that have flourished both throughout and after the pandemic. Perhaps, somewhat surprisingly, the arts and media have emerged as one of the fastest-growing sectors. With tech, fintech and health also prospering.

So who won? Well, the congratulations go to The Ralph Veterinary Referral Centre in Marlow...

The Buckinghamshire practice, who describe themselves as 'an ethical, independent veterinary referral centre for pets', topped the list due to its highly impressive compound annual growth rate of almost 450%. This follows on from some incredibly smart pivoting during the Covid-19.

The founder of Growth Index, Orlando Martins, said this about the inaugural list: “Growth is more effective than any other economic force at improving lives. The Growth Index celebrates the people and companies making it happen, particularly after two exceptionally challenging years."

Growth Index founder Orlando Martins

“Alongside the pandemic, technological and geopolitical shifts have shown that we need to adapt our ways of thinking about, being in and doing business. This isn’t simply about achieving higher levels of turnover. It’s also, and equally, about being profitable, ethical, sustainable and socially conscious in the way we do business."

“At the heart of Growth Index’s existence is applauding those companies achieving and encouraging growth in every corner of the UK, helping communities and individuals to regain their economic independence by creating rewarding jobs for the long term. We call this good growth.”

Set up to identify and celebrate the organisations and business leaders that are driving notable growth, Growth Index is an independent list which aims to shines a spotlight on UK companies demonstrating a real sense of purpose, leadership, creativity and savvy strategy.
