A networking group for Kent business leaders is being launched this week.

Businesses of all types and sizes are invited to the launch of the brand new group FindaBiz Networking in Tonbridge. Attendance to the launch event is free of charge.

FindaBiz Networking is expanding into Kent with a free launch event from 6pm on Tuesday, May 17, at the new £10m Civic Centre in Southborough, which will be home to the club.

The group is being hosted by new FindaBiz franchisee and Tonbridge sales and lettings agent, Jamie Rogers, who wanted to bring this relaxed, fun, and highly effective model of networking to his hometown.

Jamie, who owns Open House Estate Agents, West Kent, said: “I’m connected with someone in my industry who is a member of a FindaBiz group in Hinckley and he is always talking about how good it is.

Jamie has always been an entrepreneur and so understands the importance of having a network of like-minded business people from different sectors.

“I’d say networking and creating that community around you is one of the most important parts of running your own business,” he said. “You can meet people from different sectors who effectively become part of your extended team, which is not only useful when there’s some help or expertise you need for your own business, but it’s also great for your marketing strategy.

“That’s what we’re looking to create with FindaBiz Tonbridge. The aim is that this will be a real community of businesses, all helping and championing each other to make connections and, ultimately, to grow.

“We’ve had about 40 sign up for the launch event so far, from all around the region, so it should be a great event. I’d really welcome as many businesses as possible to come and have a look and see what it’s all about."

FindaBiz Tonbridge will meet on the third Tuesday of every month. And while the launch event is open to everyone, it operates a one seat per industry policy, so anyone who wants to join as a member is encouraged to get in touch and secure their place as soon as possible.

Tonbridge is the seventh group in the rapidly growing FindaBiz Networking family with successful clubs operating in the Midlands, in Tamworth, Nuneaton, Coventry East, Hinckley, Leicester and Telford, and more in the pipeline.

A friendly environment with no scary rules!

The ethos is all about providing a friendly and welcoming environment for local businesses to connect and grow - with a positive atmosphere and no scary rules.

FindaBiz Networking is run by mother and daughter team Amanda Bourne and Gemma Worthington. They said: “We are really excited to be launching in the south of England as part of our nationwide roll-out of the FindaBiz franchise model.

“We’ve got several events every month, as well as national speed networking events, social meet ups and the opportunity for members to network across the whole FindaBiz community.

“We’re really looking forward to the Tonbridge launch event and encourage businesses in the area to come along, meet Jamie and the team and see what it’s all about.”
