The Solent Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) is calling on local business leaders with the skills, knowledge and passion to help shape the future for their region to join their Board.
Interested parties should submit their application to sit on the Solent LEP Board before a May 17 deadline.
The LEP is a business-led partnership tasked with driving the economic success of the Solent area, providing critical support for local businesses to prosper and grow; and addressing future local skills needs so the Solent's young people can thrive. Those joining the Board as LEP Business Directors will play a key role in supporting the Solent economy reach its full potential.
Rachael Randall, Solent LEP Chair, said: “Successful Local Enterprise Partnerships are led by influential private and public sector leaders, acting as champions for their area’s success.
“As the first LEP in the country to have a fully elected Board, we have developed strong and collaborative relationships with our partners in the public, private, education and community sector over the years to bring forward investment and encourage innovation.
“The Board of Directors plays an integral role in providing leadership and supporting the ambition to create a dynamic, vibrant, inclusive and internationally competitive region – both in developing an immediate programme of support provided by the Solent LEP, as well as shaping longer-term strategies.
“We are keen that our Board truly reflects the business community we support and, therefore, want to encourage female business leaders to apply to achieve an equal gender balance in the Solent LEP's leadership.
“I would encourage any business leader with a passion for supporting our local economy, ensuring businesses have the skills they need for future success and our young people have the career opportunities they deserve, to apply to join us as we strive to deliver our ambitions for the Solent, helping our communities prosper and succeed.”
The closing date for LEP Business Director candidates is 23:59 on Tuesday 17 May 2022. The LEP welcomes applications from all parts of the Solent region, and from all backgrounds.
For those wanting to talk through the application requirements before submitting their application, please contact the LEP on 02392 68 8924.
