Netomnia, the UK’s fastest-growing wholesale fibre broadband operator, is rolling out its full fibre multi-gigabit network in Tewkesbury.

Netomnia will provide Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) broadband infrastructure to around 11,000 premises across Tewkesbury, delivering access to its robust and reliable broadband network with an investment of up to £3.3 million.

Tewkesbury is one of the top 10 locations in the south west for attracting overseas investment, and the deployment of ultrafast and reliable broadband will help the town to sustain and attract new businesses into the area.

The company is partnering with Light Source to roll out its broadband infrastructure in Tewkesbury, allowing for a strong speed of deployment and execution capability, using cutting edge optical solutions.

Jeremy Chelot, Chief Executive Officer at Netomnia, said: “Tewkesbury is a particularly special location for the team as it is home to Netomnia HQ. As an area with high economic activity and a lot of skilled workers, access to fast and reliable broadband speeds is crucial. We’re proud to be building our network to residents and businesses in Tewkesbury, with technology that will support them for decades to come.”

Along with its sister company YouFibre, an internet service provider, Netomnia has secured £418 million in funding since 2020 to support its rollout strategy and aims to reach one million premises in 2023.

Netomnia makes wholesale connectivity available to Internet Service Providers (ISPs), building the infrastructure for their broadband services. Its broadband infrastructure supports symmetrical (equal upload and download speeds) multi-gigabit services up to 10 Gbps (10,000 Mbps) using XGS-PON technology; this means ISPs using Netomnia’s network will be able to offer their customers reliable ultrafast speeds for decades to come.
