Full fibre internet service provider, Giganet continue to disrupt the market with their recent acquisition of Cuckoo.

The deal gives Fareham firm, Giganet coverage of nine million homes nationwide.

Launched in 2021 following a £250 million funding injection from Fern Trading Limited Giganet delivers full fibre connectivity across multiple platforms. The Fern fibre family also includes the providers Jurassic, Swish, Allpoints Fibre and Vorboss.

The latest acquisition was completed under advisement from BDB Pitmans, and completed for an undisclosed sum.

In a statement to The Business Magazine Jarlath Finnegan, CEO, Giganet confirmed, Giganet and Cuckoo will work together: "To disrupt the UK broadband market by prioritising service and customer experience as the rollout of full fibre accelerates over the next few years."

Cuckoo invests 1% of each customer’s bill to help get the internet to places it is needed most, like refugee camps, natural disaster sites and even communities in the UK. Cuckoo is also a proud signatory of the Armed Forces Covenant. Their blog tracks the inside story.

As part of the acquisition, Cuckoo will become the lead consumer brand for Giganet’s core residential customers.
