IRIS Software Group launches new tool to help charity sector
IRIS Software Group has announced the launch of IRIS Financials for Charities, a new cloud-based suite of tools designed to save charities and not-for-profits time and money.
The platform is designed to simplify charity finance by bringing together elements and functionality to manage finances in a single integrated system, which can be accessed remotely.
It uses automated workflows, such as Gift Aid calculations, to help charitable organisations control their finances. Through its multi-currency feature it can also aid these organisations in reaching global donors.
Simon Freeman, MD for Education at IRIS Software Group comments, “Charities and not-for-profits benefit us all - they connect us and provide support where there is nowhere else to turn.
“However, with declining donations, as well as the rise of those struggling and in need, it’s clear they require value added support that can ease some of their biggest challenges - including simplifying complex tasks and automating repetitive ones which can be incredibly time consuming.

“IRIS Financials for Charities gives charities and not-for-profits peace of mind that everything is being handled properly, professionally and with their best interests at heart.”
According to IRIS, more people are currently seeking support while donations are falling. In 2021, 57 per cent of people in the UK either donated to or sponsored a charity, down from 62 per cent in 2020 and 65 per cent in 2019.
The sector employs 827,000 people in the UK; IRIS claim their software can help charities to ensure their staff are paid on time while simplifying the process, giving staff more time to focus on attracting donations and raising awareness.
