Hertfordshire’s Academia Technology Group reports £114m revenues
Hemel Hempstead-based, Academia Technology Group has reported revenues of £114 million in 2022.
This represents a rise of 34 per cent year-on-year for the IT solutions and services company. Academia Technology Group has also taken on 40 new staff, bringing its staffing level to more than 180 in its new Hertfordshire headquarters.
Mark McCormack, Chief Commercial Officer at ATG said: “Our growth in the last year has been fuelled by customers who need a trusted partner who ensures they have the best technology and best support in place for their day-to-day operations.
“We know from our sustained growth in the education sector, that where we provide the right combination of services we’re seen as the long-term partner of choice for our clients.
“By growing the number of vendors we work with, and diversifying our services to meet the evolving needs of our clients, we’ll be in a strong position to deliver on our ambitious growth plans in our current sectors of strength and in new ones such as cyber security services, sustainability, and cloud storage solutions.”
The firm, which serves the public and private education and creative sectors, is now planning its next steps for 2023. ATG intend to target the private sector and add services through acquisitions.
Specifically, Academia Technology Group is focusing on four areas for the next year. It will seek to deliver additional customer requirements through new strategic vendor partnerships, building on pre-existing partnerships and agreements with Apple, Adobe and VMware.
It will look to increase its number of business customers while extending its NHS and public sector presence.
By investing in increased capability within managed cyber security and IT assets disposal, it will expand its technology stack to meet growing customer requirements by including key strategic vendors and partner suppliers.
Finally, it will look to extend its geographical reach through new regional hubs while expanding its IT asset recycling business’ geographic coverage.

On top of these four areas, the company will continue its work on partnerships with sports clubs. This programme provides schools with free technology resources – recording an uptake of more than 500 devices since it began in July 2022.
Andrew Harman, Owner of Academia Technology Group, said: “Two years on from making our growth investment in ATG, the business is making impressive progress, further securing its position as the IT partner of choice for our clients in education, the NHS and in the private sector.
“I am confident the strategy for the year ahead will position the business for future success, even with the economic challenges that lie ahead.
“Every business should play a part in supporting the community it serves, and I am delighted to see the partnerships we are forging with sports clubs help schools and communities, giving them access to IT equipment.
“This will provide even more children with the technology they need as the programme gathers pace."
