Wokingham-based property services group Leaders Romans Group has acquired Nottingham-based residential lettings and sales company Liberty Gate.

The deal builds on LRG’s existing presence in the north of Nottingham and wider East Midlands, expanding its current offering in new home and shared ownership under area manager Jennifer Swinstead. Rebranded as ‘Leaders together with Liberty Gate’, it will be the first Leaders branch in the city centre.

Liberty Gate Director David Thomas will remain in the business for a short transition period to assist with the transfer of Liberty Gate’s clients, while all other staff will transfer to LRG.

Matthew Light, Group Mergers and Acquisitions Director at LRG, said: “We are extremely proud to complete the acquisition of Liberty Gate and look forward to welcoming the team to the LRG family.

“Following a number of acquisitions early this year, our focus is very much on growth, particularly in lettings. With this acquisition, we aim to further strengthen local knowledge through our high street branch network.”

David Thomas, founder of Liberty Gate, said: “LRG’s approach to estate agency and lettings is in perfect synergy with Liberty Gate’s, and I do not doubt that under the Leaders brand, this will only improve further the fantastic service the team provides.

“In addition, becoming part of the Leaders brand will give all of our homeowners and tenants access to the best online customer portals, research capabilities and a stake in the Group’s exceptional commitment to sustainability.”
