The Charter Building in Uxbridge, west London, has reached completion, offering over 240,000 sq ft of innovative, high specification, design-led contemporary office workspace that will provide a vibrant home to a community of local, national and global businesses.
Developed speculatively by the joint venture between Landid Property and Brockton Capital, The Charter Building is the largest office development in Uxbridge and one of the largest new office buildings in the South East.

The Charter Building has been designed to foster collaboration, co-working and creativity and brings an entirely new kind of buzzing workspace offer to Uxbridge, which is strategically located just 16 minutes from Heathrow airport and 40 minutes from Central London. Just 100 metres from Uxbridge tube station, the building provides a well-connected home for contemporary businesses that value high quality design, innovative workspaces, sustainability and workforce wellbeing.

The project, designed by dn-a architects, saw the original building, which was once the UK headquarters for Coca Cola, completely stripped back to its structural frame. The floorplates were extended and a new penthouse floor with access to a dramatic roof terrace has been added.

The new building features ceiling heights up to four metres, vast one-acre floorplates and a voluminous central atrium, as well as an internal ‘street’ that runs 100m from north to south through the ground floor. The ‘street’ acts as a dynamic breakout area, encouraging serendipitous encounters, co-working and collaboration and will enable occupiers to meet clients, brainstorm with colleagues over a coffee from the onsite barista, or simply refocus outside their main office setting.

Work on The Charter Building began in 2015 and brought over 1,600 jobs to Uxbridge, including six apprentices who were honoured at the topping out ceremony last year.

Trevor Silver, managing director at Landid, said: “The Charter Building brings a completely new kind of vibrant contemporary office to Uxbridge. The building offers occupiers a distinctive location, with intelligently-designed workspaces that directly cater for the demands of modern businesses. Not only is the Charter Building a short walk from Uxbridge station, but the nearby High Street offers a fantastic array of amenities. It is a fabulous building that responds to the challenges of the fast-changing working landscape.”

Tony Edgley, partner at Brockton Capital LLP, said: "The Landid/Brockton partnership is focused on developing fresh contemporary workplaces that meet the needs of the next generation of savvy occupiers. Positioned to help businesses both retain and attract the very best talent, The Charter Building brings together excellence in workplace design with great connectivity, service, sustainability and value, within an amenity rich, urban setting.”

With a commitment to sustainability, design, service, character and occupier-satisfaction, the Landid/Brockton partnership is one of the most active office developers in the Western Corridor and is currently developing two other major office projects: Thames Tower, Reading; and The Porter Building, Slough, which are both set for completion this year.

The Landid/Brockton partnership is looking to commit significant further capital to acquire similar investment opportunities in the Western Corridor, Greater London and selected UK cities.

JLL and Rose Williams are acting as letting agents for The Charter Building.
