Pub company Trust Inns has acquired Hampshire pub and restaurant the Fox Inn in a deal overseen by property advisors Christie & Co.

The finances for the deal are as of yet undisclosed.

Located in the village of North Waltham, the traditional inn can host up to 55 people and is held in high regard by residents. The pub was recently listed as an Asset of Community Value.

A spokesperson for Trust Inns said: “Trust Inns are delighted with the acquisition of the Fox Inn, which fits neatly within our diversely located and segmented portfolio across the UK. As an independently owned company we will continue to buy quality inns and pubs, and we’d like to say thank you to Richard and Christie & Co for their help in the successful purchase of the Fox.

''We wish Robb and Izzie a long and enjoyable retirement from the Fox and will continue to nurture their legacy for a successful future for the site.”

Christie & Co has said that the sale represents an increased demand for pubs in the South of England.

Richard Wood, Regional Director at Christie & Co and sale handler, said: “I am delighted to have sold the Fox Inn on behalf of Rob and Izzie to Trust Inns, who are going to tenant the property. Rob and Izzie have put their heart and soul into the business over the last 20 years and they deserve a well-earnt retirement!

This sale demonstrates the continued demand we are experiencing for pubs with the potential to be tenanted throughout the South of England.”
