Thames Valley law firm Boyes Turner has further strengthened its development and housebuilding team with the addition of solicitor Sara McKay.

McKay joins Reading-based Boyes Turner from the Manchester office of national firm Trowers & Hamlins, where she worked in its development team. Her experience includes working on large-scale land acquisitions and acting for social housing providers on development issues.

She will work with partners William Nassau-Lake, Mark Appleton and Derek Ching, and the existing team on a range of residential and commercial development projects.

Boyes Turner’s property team also recently welcomed solicitor Laura Ford, in a further boost to their expertise. The team advises clients on commercial and residential property disputes, including disputes involving easements, covenants and overages, and between landlords and tenants.

Boyes Turner’s specialism in development and housebuilding has been established through over more than 30 years of experience in the sector. Clients range from national housebuilders to independent commercial and residential developers operating across the south of England and beyond. Work covers all aspects of conditional and unconditional site acquisition and disposal, site assembly, promotion agreements, as well as advising on planning, infrastructure and construction arrangements. The firm’s plot sales team also handles disposals of residential units.

William Nassau-Lake, co-head of the development team, said: “Our development team has been going from strength to strength in recent years, successfully gaining new clients in the sector. We are very pleased to welcome Sara and Laura on board as this gives us further resources to continue looking after existing clients and to expand our development expertise over the next few years.”
