Spot in the Woods hotel in Hampshire gets new owners
The sale of a Grade II listed country house hotel in the New Forest national park shows the improved hotel transactional market in the last 12 months, according to advisor Christie & Co, which brokered the deal.
Spot in the Woods, which sits in 1.5 acres of landscaped grounds in woods, has been sold to Hannah Passmore and Stephen Parker.

Hillbrooke Hotels have significantly upgraded and refurbished the property and grounds since their acquisition in early 2020, including the addition of the five shepherd’s huts.
The hotel features 11 refurbished bedrooms, five shepherd’s huts and extensive public areas including a dining/function room and covered veranda overlooking the gardens.
Ed Bellfield, the regional director at Christie & Co, said: "We are delighted to have sold this renowned New Forest hospitality business.
"The sale clearly demonstrates an improvement to the hotel transactional market in the last 12 months and we anticipate a further uptick in market activity during the remainder of 2023, driven by the private investor/operator markets for these sub-£10million assets.
"We would like to congratulate the purchasers of Spot in the Woods who will no doubt continue to develop the successful reputation of the business."
Paul Brown, MD at Hillbrooke Hotels added: "Spot-in-the-woods is a beautiful venue with outstanding potential. We are delighted to pass on the baton to new owners and wish Stephen and Hannah the very best as they develop the property. Thank you also to Christie & Co for their support and advice with the transaction.”
Hannah and Stephen said: "From the moment we drove into Spot in the Woods we fell in love with it, it has an amazing vibe and holds so many happy memories for so many people, we look forward to making more happy memories here."
