Leading property consultancy JLL is further strengthening its Southampton team with the appointment of a second senior member of staff within a month.  David McGougan, who is currently the chairman of the Southampton Property Association, joins JLL as director of the office agency team, following a three-year post at a local practice, prior to which he spent six years at Lambert Smith Hampton.

McGougan has 10 years of commercial property experience and has worked primarily across the south coast in lettings and sales, as well as buying and selling investments and facilitating development schemes for clients such as Legal & General, SEGRO, F&C REIT and LaSalle Asset Management.

His appointment to JLL will see him working with clients such as IPIS (Industrial Pension Investment Services), Oceanic Estates, owners of Marchwood Industrial Estate in Southampton, construction and property firm Kier, and several institutional clients.

Michael Green, head of JLL’s Southampton office, said: “David has an impressive track record in the regional market and we are delighted to welcome him to the team, as are our clients.  We are confident that David’s arrival, together with Nella Pang who joined us in May, will enable us to continue to strengthen the team in line with our ambitious expansion plans across all our regional offices.”

McGougan, who has spent most of his career in Southampton, added: “JLL has a fantastic reputation both in the local market and globally, and I am excited at the prospect of cementing the team’s current position, as well as building on its existing knowledge and expertise.

“As well as heading up the agency team, I also hope to play an integral part in the ongoing expansion plans and assist where I can with driving the consultancy forward.”

JLL plans to make further senior appointments shortly as the expansion of the Southampton office continues.
