Communications provider OneCom is celebrating its most successful six months ever in which it secured £20 million worth of new business.

OneCom signed up clients to a total of 25,000 new connections during the six months up to the beginning of May.

The figure is a 10% increase on OneCom’s previous half-year best and equates to around £20m of revenue over the new customers’ two-year contract period.

Among the companies to come on board with OneCom’s services during that period are hotel chain Travelodge and national car remarketing and auction company Manheim. Each signed a deal for around 1,000 mobile connections.

Darren Ridge, CEO of OneCom, said: “This has been an incredibly busy period for OneCom as we continue to grow and bring more clients onto our flexible, tailored, cost-effective plans.

“We’re also seeing huge growth in our unified communications services, providing everything from mobile to fixed-line to managed IT infrastructure.

“As well as bringing new business in, we’re proud that existing OneCom customers are choosing to stay with us. Our focus is always on providing superb customer service and we’re proud of the fact that we don’t just win new business – we retain it.”

OneCom, which is a Vodafone Platinum Partner, is the UK’s biggest independent business-to-business mobile phone provider. The company now handles well over 225,000 connections.

Last month it doubled the size of its headquarters, OneCom House, in Whiteley, Hampshire. The building hosts OneCom’s management and its customer services team of more than 70 staff.

As well as its headquarters in Whiteley, OneCom has offices in Camberley, Brighton, Plymouth, Leeds, Telford, Southampton, Norwich and Edinburgh, and now employs a total of around 400 people.
