Law firm Shoosmiths with offices in Thames Valley and Solent has expanded its award-winning real-estate team with the appointment of two highly experienced partners who are both ranked in The Legal 500 as Rising Stars.

Paul Alger previously worked at K&L Gates for the entire 17 years of his career and The Legal 500 notes that he is known for legal advice on real estate where ‘everything is on track and under control’ and as a lawyer who ‘provides solutions when discussing problems.’

Choisanne Man practised for seven years at Clyde & Co, after more than a decade at Nabarro – now CMS – and is ranked in The Legal 500 real estate in the south-east as a ‘key lawyer’ who is ‘especially highlighted for [a] client-focused approach’ and noted in Chambers’ real estate rankings in the south as being ‘commercial and very easy to work with.’

Alger is an established name within the UK real estate investment market and has experience of all types of commercial property transactions including acquisitions and disposals for institutional investors, landlord and tenant matters, property finance and the management of institutional portfolios.

Man is an all-rounder with a broad property practice comprising investment acquisitions and disposals, the development of residential, commercial and mixed-use schemes and general asset management work. Her experience is across diverse sectors including offices, shopping centres, retail parks, industrial, student accommodation, hotels and mixed-use properties.

Head of Shoosmiths' London office, Joseph Mazzucca said: “We welcome Paul Alger and Choisanne Man with their impressive track records at a time when due to demand for our legal advice, we expand the investment side of our real estate division both in London – and through moving to a bigger and better new office in the City – as well as throughout the UK.”

Shoosmiths’ real estate team was named Legal Team of the Year at the Estates Gazette Awards 2018.
