Redhill’s Raven Renewables wins £235k net zero contract
Redhill-based Raven Renewables has agreed a contract with AD Construction Group to deliver net zero carbon retrofit measures to a number of housing association homes.
The firm, which was founded by South East social housing organisation Raven Housing Trust, will install solar panels and batteries to 26 homes, the majority of which are in Surrey. AD Construction will carry out insulation works on the properties.
The installations are part of a wider series of works being contracted out by Raven Housing Trust, enabled by funding from Reigate & Banstead Borough Council’s bid to the Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund (SHDF) Wave 1.
The contract has a total value of £235,000 and is expected to be completed by the end of March.

Mark Gardiner, Business Development Manager for Raven Renewables, said: “The quality of housing association homes is something that’s been hitting the headlines a lot lately so it’s great to be involved in a positive addition to older homes that will benefit the residents, future-proof the homes for Raven Housing Trust, and have a positive impact on the environment too.”
“We hope to work with more of those organisations receiving grant funding in Wave 2 of the SHDF, continuing to work towards the country’s goal of a carbon neutral economy by 2050.”
Louis Allwright, Contracts Manager at AD Construction Group, added: “AD are delighted to be working with Raven Housing Trust to help improve a portion of their housing stock through introducing an array of retrofit measures, such as cavity wall insulation, triple glazing, solar PV and air source heat pumps to name a few.
“As a business we are highly focused on the reduction of carbon emissions and are keen to improve tenants living standards across all projects that we are involved in.
“The fact that AD can assist Raven Housing Trust in helping some of their tenants during the current energy crisis is very rewarding for everyone involved and we are hoping that this will be the start of a long and successful relationship for all parties moving forward.”
Barry Jenkinson, Net Zero Carbon Programme Manager for Raven Housing Trust commented on the work being carried out: “We are excited to see the work being completed to these homes as part of our programme of retrofitting homes, bringing them up to modern energy-efficient standards, and contributing to our journey to net zero. Raven Renewables and AD Construction Group are both experts in this field, so we are in good hands.”
