Bargate Homes launches £18.2million Hampshire Scheme
Hampshire-based Bargate Homes has opened its £18.2million St Thomas’ Mead development in Old Bedhampton having already sold over half of the 50 eco-efficient houses.
These private homes range from two, three, and four bedroom houses to chalet bungalows. Each of the houses are constructed to EPC-B standards and will enable purchasers to benefit from Green Mortgage rates. Prices range from £300,000 to £625,000.
Houses at St Thomas’ Mead were designed with local architecture in mind. The scheme is located next to a freshwater stream that passes through the Old Bedhampton Conservation area. Bargate Homes has committed to planting new trees and landscaping in order to maintain and improve the surrounding natural setting’s biodiversity.

The houses at St Thomas’ Mead all fall in line with Bargate Homes’ carbon-reduction strategy. The Home Builders Federation reported that buyers at St Thomas’ Mead will save on average around £2,600 in annual energy bills, a figure set to rise in line with Energy Price Guarantee changes.
St Thomas’ Mead is about a mile from the nearest train station. Local shops, sports facilities, pre-school facilities, and ‘Good’ rated Ofsted schools are within walking distance of the scheme. The development is also only a few minutes-drive away from the A27 and A3, making it well connected to the coastline and national motorway network.
