Oxfordshire Chartered Surveyor joins Berrys as partner
A highly regarded chartered surveyor with over 30 years of experience in the construction industry has joined leading property firm Berrys as Partner.
Derek Farrow has a wealth of experience delivering complex projects, with expertise in engineering, building design, energy-saving, environmental issues, and project management. He is based at the Oxford office and will be working on projects throughout the county.
Derek has delivered some significant schemes throughout Oxfordshire, working with over 25 colleges at Oxford University and many commercial clients. Derek was responsible for leading the largest graduate accommodation scheme in Oxford and one of the most significant developments by a college in recent history, the award-winning HB Allen Centre.
Outside of Oxfordshire, Derek has worked on projects as far afield as the Sydney Opera House – Australia, Iceland and Saudi Arabia.
He has also held external consultancy posts, including being an external examiner at Oxford Brookes University.
Derek’s passion for the construction industry is shown with his work for the Worshipful Company of Constructors. After becoming a Freeman of the Livery company in 2006, he gained Freedom of the City of London in 2007. He has since been elected as a Court Assistant in 2015 and is now a Warden.
