Life Less Ordinary, a boutique property developer based in Hemel Hempstead, has appointed five new hires to newly created roles. The appointments double the size of the firm's workforce as it targets a residential development value of more than £50 million next year.

In the role of Head of Technical, Life Less Ordinary headhunted James Cross, previously of Persimmon Homes. Across his 40-year career, James has worked for some of the top names in the industry, including Barratt Homes, Crest Nicholson and Berkeley Homes.

James, a member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors, has experience across all aspects of residential development, and a track record of delivering complex residential and mixed-use schemes.

Joining from Inland Homes as Head of Commercial is Paul Litherland. Paul gained experience at Keir Construction and Tolent Construction, after being sponsored through his degree at university by Taylor Woodrow Construction.

Joining Paul in the commercial team as Assistant Surveyor is Ben Revel.

Darren Breen joins Life Less Ordinary in the construction arm as Operations Manager, having left Boshers to do so. His previous experience at Ballymore and Inland home will enable the business to extend its product offering with a closer eye to detail and the ability to scale up to a larger number of homes.

Hinesh Chawda, Director at Life Less Ordinary said: “We have a hugely ambitious appetite to deliver more quality, desirable homes and to do that it is vital that we have the very best senior experience within our team.

“The combined experience and enthusiasm of James, Paul, Ben and Darren will allow us to ensure that we continue building quality, desirable homes and a consistently exceptional product as we move through a period of sustained growth.”

Life Less Ordinary has also hired Danielle Chevannes as Customer Service Manager, reinforcing the firm’s customer-focused full-service offering.

Hinesh said: “We have witnessed the positive impact that controlling the entire development process has for the end user and the value that it brings to our customers in their new homes.

“Danielle will be the principal point of contact for all our buyers and ensure that our customer care matches the quality of the homes that we’re selling.”
