Former Victorian hotel and antiques shop with Grade-II listing for sale in tourist town
Escape to the Country! A Grade II-listed Victorian property previously used as a hotel, restaurant and antiques shop in a popular Worcestershire town has gone up for sale, and the price is a snip at £325,000.
Charles House at 26 St Ann's Road is the first instruction for the Malvern operation of Nicol & Co, the expanding estate agency which already has offices in Droitwich Spa and Worcester.
Erica Hinwood, the new sales manager for Nicol & Co in the Malvern area, said: “This beautiful property is thought to have been built in the 1840s and has had various uses over the last 180 years.
“It was once the home of what was known as Welch’s hotel, restaurant and tearooms, as can be seen in an old photograph, and it has also been used as an antiques shop.
“More recently, it has been used as a residential dwelling and the current owner enjoys happy memories of bringing up his own family there.
“With the property retaining its commercial use aspect, it could be used as a shop again should a prospective buyer have those aspirations."
The current owner has owned it for 20 years.
Erica added: “I’m thrilled to be marketing such a stunning property as Charles House as Nicol & Co’s first instruction in the Malvern area.”
