Walkabout, the well-known town-centre bar in Bournemouth, has been closed to allow work to start on a £450,000 refurbishment, which should be completed in just three weeks.
The interior of the new-style bar will benefit from new VIP areas, pre-bookable booths and private areas for parties, meals, club nights and live music. The venue will also feature the “Reef Bar”, where a series of huge linked screens showing coral reef and beach footage will combine with specialist lighting to give the impression of being in a summery, Pacific-Ocean setting.
The refurbishment has created 10 new permanent jobs.
