Andover New Street football club seek planning permission for new spectator stand
A planning application for a new 100-seater spectator stand has been submitted by a football team in Charlton, Hampshire.
The application was submitted by Andover New Street Football and Social Club, whose men’s team plays in the ninth tier of English football, who are looking to replace its current seating stand with a new 100 fully-seated stand.
The future of the site at Foxcotte Park in Charlton is now in the hands of Test Valley Borough Council.
The club said in its application: “These 100 seats must afford a good view of the pitch and be clean, functional and in good condition. There must be a minimum of 16 seats provided for Directors/Committee and guests with a minimum of 8 seats provided for the visiting club. These seats must be clearly marked ‘Home’ and ‘Away Directors’."
With the current stand currently structurally unsound due to timber rot, and uneconomic to repair, it will be demolished if the club gets the go-ahead.
The new stand would be constructed in accordance with FA National Ground Grading Category F requirements and cost £51,000.
