Reading’s Blandy & Blandy Advises Badger Software Limited on its acquisition by Altia

Law firm Blandy & Blandy, headquartered in Reading, advised Reading-based software supplier Badger Software Limited on its acquisition by international intelligence and investigation software company Altia.

The Blandy team advising on the deal was comprised of Emma Ford and David Few, both of whom are part of Blandy’s corporate and commercial team.

Founder and MD of Badger Software Rob Brigham said: “We already knew some of the people at Blandy & Blandy, from an office lease which they very successfully negotiated and concluded 18 months ago.  When it came to a sale of the business, it was even more important to us that we had a team which we felt comfortable working with, and who would help us through what we expected could be a complex and potentially stressful process, and something which none of us had any experience with before.

‘’As soon as we spoke with David and Emma, we had every confidence that Blandy & Blandy would be the right team for us.  From beginning to end, the team’s experience and ability were extremely useful and they deftly guided us to an outcome which we were very pleased to achieve.”

Badger Software is the UK's leading supplier of software for dealing with Crimes in Action and Critical Incidents and develops covert and overt solutions for UK and international law enforcement, as well as the commercial sector.

Rob added: "We are incredibly proud of what we have built here at Badger Software, in particular the market leading CLIO software and the fanatical support that we receive from our loyal customers. Joining the Altia group adds significantly to our capability and provides a fantastic opportunity to grow, not just within the United Kingdom but also overseas."

"We have known Altia for some time and share many customers. Their reputation in the market and focus on great customer service meant that they were the obvious choice for us to work with. Together, our complementary products will create a complete solution for managing all manner of incidents and investigations. The ambition and values we found at Altia make this an exciting venture which will ensure better outcomes and greater efficiency for our customers."
