Meadows Ryan launches dedicated sports law department
Surrey law firm Meadows Ryan Solicitors has launched a dedicated sports law service, aiming to expand its network of clients in the industry.
The firm, which has offices in Weybridge and central London, works with several Premier League players, international rugby stars and sports clubs. The firm’s Weybridge office is located near to Harlequin Rugby Club and Chelsea F.C. training grounds, and clients include names like Danny Care, Harlequins and England Rugby Player, and former England, Chelsea and Manchester F.C. player Wayne Bridge.
The new multi-disciplinary Sports Team is led by some of the firm’s most experienced solicitors and includes Jodie Care (Employment Law), James Baker (Private Clients), John Quibell (Corporate and Commercial), Christian Abletshauser (Family Law) and Piers Meadows, the firm’s Managing Partner and residential and commercial property solicitor.
Meadows Ryan will offer a holistic service to athletes and sports professionals, to support on sponsorship agreements, transfer contracts and deals, as well as caring for clients’ personal lives, including advice on property, family law and estate planning. The firm can also assist with regulations, employment, dispute resolution, disciplinary matters and governance, as well as other areas such as brand protection, reputation management and tax.
Speaking about the launch of the new department, Managing Partner Piers Meadows said: “For a long time we have been working with a wide range of sports stars, athletes and clubs, providing them with advice and support throughout their careers.
“Given our extensive experience in this area, we thought that now was a great time to launch a dedicated department that can focus on the needs of the sports sector.
