Dorset-based family brewery and pub owners Hall & Woodhouse will donate half of its net sales generated in its Managed Houses on Tuesday 14th November to select charities as part of its 2023 fundraising programme.

The company has already raised over £300,000 for local causes this year, Hall & Woodhouse’s Charity Day is expected to result in a donation of at least £70,000.

Funds will be split between mental health foundation, Mind, and The British Red Cross Disaster Fund Appeal.

Anthony Woodhouse, Chairman of Hall & Woodhouse, said: “At Hall & Woodhouse, our purpose is to make people’s day and enrich our communities, whether it's through a fabulous guest experience at our pubs, or our involvement with local fundraising. It’s a privilege to support charities and the vital projects that make such a difference.

“While we enjoy annual events that provide direct funding for local people and good causes, we’re also aware of the need for urgent support happening across the country, and the world. We recognise that it’s our duty to do all we can to help where necessary.”

The firm was headline sponsor at the three-day Dorset-based family festival, Teddy Rocks. The festival raises funds to help fight children’s cancer and provide support for affected families. With the H&W team volunteering their time free of charge, the total amount from sponsorship and profits from the bars donated to the Festival was nearly £140,000.

The well-known H&W Community Chest will also be presenting its awards aggregating £50,000 to organisations across Dorset and Sussex early next year.

Other fundraising efforts from the brewer in 2023 have included running bars at festivals, where profits were donated to select charities, and through local initiatives in each pub across the country.

Anthony Woodhouse added: “Raising such a significant sum with the rest of the year still to come is a huge achievement.

''We’re incredibly proud of the entire H&W Family and want to thank each and every member of the team for their efforts so far this year. We hope to surpass the 2022 total of £600,000, another step toward reaching our goal of donating and raising £1million per annum by 2027.”
