5G roars into Kidderminster as EE boosts mobile connectivity ahead of summer holidays
Visitors, residents and businesses to benefit from the fast speeds, low latency and increased reliability of EE’s network as EE switches on award-winning 5G network in Kidderminster ahead of summer holidays.
EE today announced it has switched on its award-winning 5G network in Kidderminster ahead of the summer holidays - as local attractions get set for an influx of families and visitors. Customers visiting attractions such as West Midlands Safari Park and Severn Valley Railway station will benefit from good 5G outdoor coverage.
Tourist attractions in Kidderminster will be welcoming thousands of visitors over the next few weeks, as people spend more leisure time outdoors following the end of Covid-19 restrictions.
And EE has launched 5G in Kidderminster in time for the summer holidays, so customers can enjoy faster speeds and greater reliability at even the busiest times during the break - whether that’s to share photos and videos, connect with loved ones, or access their favourite apps.
EE’s new 5G network will provide outdoor coverage at the Safari Park, the SVR station in Kidderminster and public spaces such as Brinton Park and White Wickets Park.
The mobile network operator, part of BT Group, has added a permanent 5G service to Kidderminster, meaning that local residents, businesses and visitors will be able to benefit from an enhanced mobile experience all year round. The town is the second place in Worcestershire to get connected to its network, following the launch of 5G services in Worcester earlier this year.
Chris Kelly, Managing Director at West Midland Safari Park, said: “As we enter our busiest period of the year, it’s great news that EE’s new 5G network has been launched in Kidderminster and will provide faster speeds and better connectivity for customers here at our Safari Park too.
“We know how much our visitors like to take photos and videos during their trip, so the fact this will make it easier for them to share their experience with friends and family is fantastic.”
Liz Needleman, BT Group regional lead for the Midlands, said: “With visitors set to flock to tourist attractions such as the West Midlands Safari Park and Severn Valley Railway, we’re pleased to be providing improved connectivity in the area. “Our 5G network will help ensure our customers stay connected so they can make the most of their time there, whether that’s sharing photos with family or friends, using social media or simply making a phone or video call.”
EE’s 5G network has been named the UK’s number one in independent tests by RootMetrics, and is available in more than 160 cities and towns across the UK.
