Octopus Energy looks to South East to fill 4,000 new clean energy jobs
Octopus Energy is expanding its services division with plans to bring on up to 4,000 new team members – many of them from the South East – over the next year.
Among the clean energy roles on offer are heat pump engineers, solar and EV charger installers, delivery drivers and operations personnel.
To help fill the vacancies, the company has set up ‘OctoPalooza’, the UK’s first same-day hiring festival, to rapidly attract top talent to its workforce.
These regional jobs fairs will invite candidates to take part in hiring tests and potentially get a job on the spot.

The first three events in Manchester, London and Peterborough welcomed more than 600 prospective candidates and Octopus ended the day with 400 new recruits.
It’s now turning to the South East, with OctaPaloozas coming to Oxford on 22nd March and Kent on 10th April.
John Szymik, CEO of Octopus Energy Services, said: “In true Octopus fashion, we’ve thought creatively to speed up the process of hiring the UK’s best talent into sustainable services jobs.
“OctoPalooza is our version of F1’s pitstop process – turbocharging the time it takes to hire exceptional people into futureproof jobs that fit around their lives, not the other way around.
“We’re creating 3,000 to 4,000 new jobs this year alone, which will help boost the British economy and drive prosperity across all regions.”
Those looking to sign up for OctoPalooza or pursue a career in sustainability are invited to apply at octopus.energy/oes-career
