KPMG has promoted James Ledward to partner in its Reading team.

Ledward has been with KPMG for 16 years and advises a wide range of companies in the Thames Valley, from owner-managed businesses to listed overseas groups.  He specialises in providing external and internal audit advice and advises clients buying and selling businesses on their transactions.

Andrew Morgan, office senior partner in the Thames Valley, said: “James’ promotion reflects our optimism for growth over the coming months and years ahead.  He has a wealth of experience, and will play a crucial role in helping us to address the business issues and opportunities our clients want to tackle most.”

Commenting on the firm’s overall recruitment strategy, Morgan went on to say: “We take seriously our role as a responsible employer and we are determined to ensure open access to our profession.  We are working hard on our approach to both internal and external appointments of partners but this ethos also permeates our entire recruitment process.  We are hiring more graduates and school leavers than ever before – 1,000 students this year – and are striving to ensure we recruit from as diverse a pool as possible.  As one of the UK’s large employers, it is our duty to ensure our staff reflects the society we work in, with and for.”
