The Rt Hon Ed Vaizey, MP for Wantage, who published the first Culture White Paper in 50 years in March 2016 while he was minister for culture and digital economy, has been appointed to chair a new sub-group focused on driving forward investment and supporting economic growth in the areas of creativity, culture, heritage and tourism in Oxfordshire

The group will oversee the implementation of the new Creativity, Culture, Heritage and Tourism Investment Plan (CCHTIP) which was successfully launched in July by Oxfordshire Local Enterprise Partnership (OxLEP).

Vaizey said: “Oxfordshire has a world-class cultural and heritage sector and I look forward to working with the group to help develop a strategy for investment and growth across the county.”

Lorraine Lindsay-Gale, Oxfordshire County Council cabinet member for property, cultural and community services, said: “This new sub-group which will drive forward the £44.5 million of investment-potential which the investment plan identified.”
