Woodley is to host its first Festival of Business on Thursday November 14 at The Oakwood Centre.
The event, which takes place from 5-8pm, aims to bring together local businesses, business owners and the organisations that support them to showcase the thriving business community within Woodley.
Keynote speakers include renown businessman Sir John Madejski and Andrew Withers, managing director of Southern Fried Chicken. Withers, more recently known for his appearance on 'Undercover Boss', will share how this experience has helped him to focus on growing the business.
Chair of Woodley Business Club and event organiser Tom Clark commented: “Woodley is often overlooked because of its close proximity to Reading. However, there is a diverse range of businesses here, including retail and leisure, business-to-business organisations, wholesalers, professional services and home-based sole traders. The Festival of Business aims to bring local organisations together, create networking and provide an opportunity to learn from others. It is a celebration of all that Woodley’s business community has to offer.”
Woodley Town Council and Wokingham Borough Council are sponsoring the event and other local organisations lined up to be involved include Bracknell and Wokingham College, Woodley Town Centre Management, Reading107, The Real Business Club.
