Business advisory firm Quantuma has appointed Adrian Howells as new corporate finance director. Howells specialises in both lead advisory and debt advisory, and will have a national remit, strengthening the firm’s presence as it looks to grow its corporate finance practice across the UK.

Howells joins from HMT LLP, where he led the firm’s debt advisory practice whilst also running both buy-side and sell-side lead advisory mandates. He has extensive corporate finance experience, regularly advising private companies and private equity firms on raising debt and working capital facilities in the £2.5 million to £25m deal space.

In addition to debt advisory work, he has a strong track record helping shareholders exit their business whilst achieving maximum value, and in acquisitions, including management buy-ins. His expertise spans a wide range of sectors, including technology, manufacturing, house building, SaaS, finance and the automotive sectors.

This follows the appointment of corporate finance partner Ian Barton in May, which strengthened the team’s private equity presence. Quantuma has seen a succession of appointments in the last year, with Mark Lucas, Mark Sands, Mike Wright, Maxine Reid and Andrew Andronikou joining as partners.

The firm, which has its roots in corporate recovery, has grown its wider advisory service portfolio, which includes corporate finance and litigation support services to a growing client list.

Mark Lucas, partner and head of corporate finance at Quantuma, said: “Thanks to the strength of our teams and our client focus, we are seeing a surge in demand for our corporate finance advisory services.”

“Adrian is a highly respected expert with specialist knowhow in debt advisory and equity transactions and has a great track record of closing deals. Adrian’s skillset will bolster the team, as it continues to provide first-rate financial and operational solutions to clients across a range of sectors.”

Adrian Howells said:It’s clear that Quantuma is committed to growth, with an expanding portfolio of mid-market corporates and SMEs seeking the firm’s corporate finance expertise.

“The market conditions at the moment are particularly complex, and it is vital for businesses to consult experts that understand the pressures, so they can achieve the best outcome. I look forward to bringing my experience in helping private companies realise their optimum value as we continue to strengthen the team at Quantuma."
