South East: Quantuma continues growth trajectory with Essex expansion

Business advisory firm Quantuma has completed a merger with Essex-based business management consultancy Aspect Plus, to further strengthen its South East presence.

This will be the firm’s first move into Essex and takes its number of UK offices to 18 and 21 globally, which include its overseas offices in Cyprus (Nicosia and Paphos) and Mauritius.

This news follows Quantuma’s merger with AIM-listed K3 Capital Group in August, and is the fourth acquisition the firm has completed since 2017, including Kingsland and WRI Associates.

Aspect Plus has been providing professional advice to individuals and businesses across the UK and internationally for nine years since it was incorporated by Gary Thompson, Darren Edwards, and Tony Bayliss. Prior to establishing Aspect Plus, Thompson held leadership roles with a range of restructuring practices.

As part of the acquisition, Aspect Plus will operate under the Quantuma brand. This will see Thompson joining the firm as a managing director in its restructuring and insolvency team. All seven existing members of staff will also join Quantuma.

Commenting on the merger, Carl Jackson, CEO at Quantuma said: “We remain focused on continuing our growth trajectory, both within our own business and in our wider group, following our merger with AIM-listed K3 Capital Group in August.

“We are delighted to welcome Gary and his team to the firm and I very much look forward to working with them to drive our expansion into Essex and Kent. We have known Gary for some time and have been impressed by the quality of the practice he has built.”

Thompson added: “We have had a number of interested parties seeking to grow their businesses through bolt-on acquisitions. Quantuma really stood out from the crowd with its impressive growth over the last few years and client roster. The team are a great cultural fit for us – they are passionate and talented, but they are also warm, open and very welcoming. I am really looking forward to what the future holds.”
