Rob Paddon has been added to Ascot Racecourse's senior leadership team in the role of Head of Sales.

Rob brings to the position more than 13 years' worth of experience in the sports sector generating revenue, profitability and performance. At Ascot, Rob will take the lead on increasing sales for raceday sponsorship and all major events, such as the five days of Royal Ascot, 21 other racedays each year and all non-raceday events that welcome guests from the business and consumer sectors all year long.

Along with assisting in the creation of the company's future business strategy, he is also responsible for the development of the administrative and events teams. Rob will lead the teams in promoting Ascot as much more than just a horse racing track by launching the racecourse's internal events subsidiary Gatherings At Ascot, which offers event venues year-round for private and corporate events.

Rob has a strong background in sales, having held key roles in the past at both Fulham and Arsenal football clubs.

On his new role, Rob said: “I am delighted to join this world-famous venue as Head of Sales and work alongside a talented management team to continue building upon its rich history and formidable foundation, especially at this pivotal time for the industry when Ascot is poised for significant and continued growth."

"Organisations are under tremendous pressure to improve sales and productivity and Ascot’s diverse corporate and consumer offering is perfectly positioned to harness this. My focus will ultimately be on improving and further developing our bespoke customer experiences while driving revenue through strategic partnerships and initiatives.”

Felicity Barnard is the Commercial Director at Ascot Racecourse. She said about the appointment: “Rob brings exceptional knowledge and experience to this important leadership role. We’ve experienced significant change and innovation at Ascot Racecourse during the past two years, forcing us to think differently about how we approach the market to help meet our customers’ changing requirements and have broadened the way we reach both consumers and corporate clients."

"The outcome has been extremely positive and it’s crucial that we have a sales leader in place to harness that growth and implement a strategy to further strengthen our approach and propel us forward.”
