Leading figure in the Thames Valley business community, Alex Tatham, is to leave his role at Westcoast to join tech reseller NSC Global.

In his role as managing director of Westcoast, Alex helped  grow the company into one of the largest privately-owned companies in the UK and will now take up a new role as global head of clients and marketing at the London-based firm in September.

The Theale-based tech distributor posted a turnover £3,469,708,000  for the year ending 2021 and currently employs around 1250 employees.

Alex spent nearly nine years as managing director at the firm having previously held the position of sales and marketing director for five years which he embarked on when the company's annual revenues were at £600m.

Alex announced his departure on his LinkedIn page this week.

He posted: "After 25 years in distribution, there are too many people to say thank you to – but clearly the last 14 years at Westcoast has been extraordinary. Developing the UK’s leading distributor and shouting about its success has been a phenomenal ride and I leave the business with a superb team and giant reputation.

"Thank you to all the vendors that have and continue to help and customers that have trusted us with their business and particularly those that have supported me personally. It’s a wonderful channel and one that I can shout about from a different (reseller!) direction in the future.

"Thank you to all Westcoast’s amazing employees past and present but in particular Phil Bell and of course Joe Hemani – titans both."

Westcoast released a statement announcing that he would be departing the company at the end of August.

It read: "Joe, the Westcoast board and all at Westcoast will miss Alex’s passion, enthusiasm and energy. We wish him all the success in his new venture and thank him for his 14 years of dedicated service and friendship."

Yaseen Khan, chief executive officer, said that Alex's role at NSC Global would be to "emulate" the growth seen during his tenure at Westcoast.

He said: "Alex’s role at NSC will be to emulate that growth both here in the UK, and across the world, and he is looking forward to working with all at NSC to achieve this in the coming years. Alex will be based in London and Sales, Presales, Marketing and Account Support functions will all report into him."
