Inaugural event at Ascot Racecourse raises over £100,000 for NHS Charities Together
The first-ever ERP Today Awards and Fundraiser held at Ascot Racecourse has raised more than £100,000 for the independent national charity partner of the NHS, NHS Charities Together.
The inaugural event was organised by multimedia publishing company ERP Today so that the ERP community could unite to show its support and appreciation for those who have been on the frontline during the pandemic, to recognise excellence across the industry, and raise money to support the NHS, with the £100,000 raised from ticket sales and donations.
As the event’s local hospital, staff of Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust – which provides NHS hospital services for people across Berkshire, Hampshire, Surrey and South Buckinghamshire – were given the chance to enter a ballot for 100 complimentary VIP tickets to the ERP event.
The 100 lucky winners included both clinical and non-clinical staff from the Trust, who joined senior NHS officials and invited VIP guests at the Awards Lunch, when editor and founder of ERP Today, Paul Esherwood, presented the £100,000 cheque to Ellie Orton OBE, the CEO of NHS Charities Together.
The Awards ceremony formed part of the one-day outdoor ERP Today event, which had more than 1000 guests from business and the NHS, who took part in competitive events.
Accepting the cheque, Ellie Orton OBE of NHS Charities Together, said: "I want to say a huge thank you to ERP Today, the companies that have attended the ERP Awards event today, and to everyone who has helped raise so much money for our appeal. NHS staff, volunteers and patients have been through so much since the Covid crisis started, and it makes such a difference knowing there are so many generous people out there doing what they can to support them."
