Portsmouth’s Wild Recruitment launches Engineering and Technical Division
Wild Recruitment has launched an Engineering and Technical Division to meet growing demand from Portsmouth businesses for skilled workers across the STEM disciplines.
Despite government acknowledgement that a strong engineering sector is vital to the UK’s economic aims, there remain an estimated 173,000 vacancies across the country, costing the economy around £1.5 billion each year.
Tom Greenwood, who heads the new department, said: “Locally there are many companies that work in the major engineering and manufacturing sectors and their supply chains, particularly supporting defence and aerospace industries.
“There is a candidate shortage in most areas of recruitment, and manufacturing and engineering are no different.
“My plan is to grow this team in the next 12 months and beyond to meet the demands of our clients. Finding workers and getting them into jobs really helps the local economy.”
